ATTENTION! Infantry-Inspired Fall Stylecast

Ahhh...Summer's lease hath all too short a date...

We loooove summer, but the shopaholic in us is itching for the next season (and no, that's not due to allergies).  Luckily, nights in Los Angeles tend to be cool, which is great for those of us who are already unearthing apparel packed away in closets, awaiting to be loved again.  And it's not even August!

If you're going shopping in the near future, here's a trendy piece you should be sure to snatch up--the infantry-inspired oversized jacket.  We can't tell you how much we are in love with this look and its versatility! You can dress it up or down, depending on the occasion!  We'd hashtag this one under #musthave and #staple.

"But Sassy Girls, how would we wear this trend?"  Glad you asked.

A few tips on looking tip-top during this military madness....

1) Don't overdo the oversized!  The jacket is already loose, so your other apparel shouldn't be.  If you plan on wearing it over a dress, short dresses are better than long ones...unless your long dress happens to be more fitted.  But then again, rules are meant to be broken.

2) If you're wearing this look with jeans, then we'd suggest sticking with either fitted jeans and not so much the boyfriend cut.  Although, in some cases this could be an exception.  Use your judgement on proportions!
We also love this look with leather skinny pants and skinny jeans.  The tighter pants with the oversized jacket look amazing in contrast.

3) Wear it over a t-shirt and use fun accessories to dress it up! The chunky chained animal necklace seen on Cara Delevingne and Rihanna, a fun new trend, is perfect for this outfit.

For some trendy accessories, check out what we've just brought in at Shop Sassy Girls

4) If you're wearing it with a T or a tank, then try pairing it up with shorts and heels! We love mixing up apparel in ways that most wouldn't normally attempt!  It adds an element of sophistication and style. Wayyy chic.

See how versatile this one staple piece can be? ;)

Send us pics of how you wear this trend to be featured on our blog and Instagram!

STACK 'EM UP- Ring Trend

Last week, at the PFW Chanel Couture fashion show, people were not just loving the line-up...but the stack-up as well! Piling on jewelry, like bracelets and rings, is nothing new in the fashion world.  But stacking rings all the way up to your nails?  That's just unheard of! Ok...it kind of excites us.

Some critics of this look worry that they may lose their rings (not to mention money spent) if they dare venture so far as the cuticle.  Their worries may be valid, but there are alternate ways to rock this look without worrying that your hard-earned cash is slipping away...literally.

Try stacking up rings of different sizes--larger ones towards the base of your fingers and thinner ones above the knuckles, so you feel more secure about their placement.

(Check out our website for this look on the left!)

It's all about having fun with it! Mix and match different metals and stones to see what meshes with your summer outfit.  Save 'em though, because this trend will be perfect for the Fall/Winter season as well.

Check out some of the looks we've selected to inspire you on your journey to couture cuticle-ism.  ;-)

ATELIER VERSACE- Fall 2013 Couture!

It has only been a year and a half since Donatella Versace returned to the world of couture fashion, and by the looks of her current Fall 2013 collection, she plans on staying for quite a while.

A mixture of embroidered black leather and net panels, adorned with crystals, sequined lace, tulle, and mink made its way down the runway this week, but that's not what's got everyone talking.  This show was all about SKIN. Intricate and asymmetrical cuts in patterns exposing just enough for the imagination to run wild. The audience reportedly went wild when they saw that returning supermodel, Naomi Campbell, who hasn't been in a Versace show in years, kicked off the show with legs for miles!

Donatella's inspiration? Black-and-white photography from the 1930s!  She described the era as a "moment about precision, about perfection, and lots of hard work," which makes sense when you see the amount of work and detail that's gone into each piece.

Take a look at some of our absolute fav picks!
